this is just a extra credit short story i did for English. read it and tell me what you think. i wrote this in just 1 or 2 days i think. Thanks!
I walk through a dark passage, not knowing where I am. “Where am I?” I thought to myself. It was cold as if it was the coldest temperature in winter and I was shivering too. “Yuuki…” a voice called. It caught my attention. Someone, a voice that seemed familiar called my name. “Yuuki…” There it was again. “Who are you? And where are you?” I called out. Then a bright light appeared at a distance from me. “Yuuki, come here…” Not knowing what may be there, I ran to it. The voice that seemed so familiar, I knew it as him for sure. I reached the light to find myself standing in snow, as it was also falling at the same time. In front of me, stood a figure wearing a black school uniform like me; holding a gun. It was the Bloody Rose. I looked at the figure’s head; silver hair, it was Zero. “Zero…” I whispered. “Zero, what are you doing here?” I looked into his eyes; they were sad, like that time before I left the academy. “Yuuki, I’m sorry...” said Zero. Puzzled, yet scared at his comment, I replied, “What do you mean sorry Zero? I should be the one-" He moved the Bloody Rose to his head. “ZERO! STOP PLEASE DON’T!” I ran towards him with tears running down my face. A tear also ran down Zero’s face. “I’m sorry Yuuki, for everything…” A gun shot fired and everything went black.
“ZERO!” I woke up screaming his name, sweating all over. I lay back on my bed. I’d been having that same dream almost every night ever since we left the academy where I grew up. But after the incident that have happened because of me and becoming a pure blood vampire again, I had to leave with Kaname, so no danger will come to the day class students (humans) and there won’t be trouble with the remaining night class students (vampires). I thought of Zero, and what he had said to me before I left the academy, “when we meet again, I’ll kill you Yuuki.” I closed my eyes. “I don’t want to be enemies with you Zero.” I said to myself. It hurt so much when he said that to me. “Yuuki, are you awake?” I got up. I knew who that was. It was Kaname, my lover. “Ah…yes I’m awake now.” I said. He smiled at me. “Okay then, hurry and get dressed, Rika and her brothers are here to take you back to visit the academy.” “Oh, that’s right!” I said happily. “It’s been 3 years since we left huh?” Kaname nodded. “Okay, tell them I’ll be there in a second.” And Kaname left. Yes, 3 years since. Now I’m going to go back and visit them for the first time, and this time, I’ll heal the relationship between me and Zero.
I got to the door, Rika and her brothers, also pure blood vampires, were waiting for me. They were wearing their school uniform as well, but it was white, which meant it was the night class uniform. I of course was wearing my day class uniform, even thought I am a vampire my self, I still haven’t forgotten that I was a guardian of the nigh class when I was a human. “Yuuki!” exclaimed Rika. “Long time, no see! How are you?” we hugged each other. I was excited too. “Heh heh heh…I’m great. How about you and your brothers?” “We’re fine…” replied Rika. “Sorry we’re late though. My brothers slept in, so I have to wake them up.” “Yes, and next time, not so rough!” said Kou, one of her brothers. Rika’s brothers, Kou and Shoryu are identical twins, but I can tell the difference. Kou is a bit more rowdy and more kid like, but when he get’s serious, he gets serious. Shoryu on the other hand is more mature, but he can be a bit funny at times. “Rika almost beat Kou to a pulp earlier.” Said Shoryu. I chuckled. “Shoryu!” complained Kou. “What? I wasn’t my fault that you slept in.” replied Shoryu. Kou grumbled to himself. “Sigh…well ready to go Yuuki?” asked Rika. I nodded. “But what about-” “Don’t worry about me Yuuki, you go ahead.” Said Kaname. “Okay” I replied, and he gave me a kiss on the lips. We parted and I left with Rika, Kou, and Shoryu.
We came to the front gates. At the front gates, I saw my father who brought me up when I as a child, when I thought that I as human. “Yuuki!” he said with delight waving his hands. “Father!” I as so happy to see him; I ran to hug him. Not only is he my father, he is also the Headmaster of the academy. We usually call him Headmaster Cross, and of course the academy is named after him making it Cross Academy. “Hello Headmaster Cross!” said Kou, “it’s nice to see you and the academy again!” “Ah, yes, and it’s nice to see all of you again too!” replied Headmaster Cross. “How are the students?” asked Shoryu. “They are fine too, though they were sad when they heard that some of the night class students were gone. Even though only a few remains, it’s still crazy as if you guys never left. Poor Zero have to do the job of a guardian himself.” said Headmaster Cross with sympathy. “Zero is still here?” I asked surprisingly. “Yes he is Yuuki.” He replied. “How about Yori? How is she?” I asked. “Ah well Yori has graduated Yuuki.” I smiled. “It’s a good thing that she graduated.” I thought to myself. “Headmaster?” asked Rika. “Yes Rika.” Replied Headmaster Cross. “Um...may we go to our old dorms now, if they’re still vacant?” Headmaster Cross blinked a couple of times and smiled. “Why, yes of course! In fact, I’ll give you your original rooms so that it would be as if you never left!” I laughed at his remark. And we all went to the Moon Dorm.
“Yuuki, Rika, Kou, and Shoryu! Welcome back, it’s nice to see you again!” Ichijou welcomed us with open arms. “Heh…hello Ichijou! How is the rest of the night class?” I asked. “Oh...theyre fine. There’s only 3 of us left. It’s me, Shiki, and Rima-” he suddenly stopped. “What’s wrong Ichijou?” Rika asked. “Ah…it’s nothing. It’s just that Kaname isn’t here with Yuuki. That’s all.” Replied Ichijou. “Oh…well, he said don’t worry about him.” I replied. “Oh” Ichijou said surprisingly, “that’s fine then. Now let’s go and have fun!” he said smiling. “What do you mean by “fun”?” asked Shoryu. “Eh…you’ll see!” said Ichijou.
We went out to the Moon Dorm’s courtyard where we saw that the place was decorated for a party. There were also other vampires there. They all bowed down to us for we were after all pure bloods. “Yay!” exclaimed Kou “let’s part-" I looked a Kou. He was on the ground. I looked at Rika, and she was shaking her hand as if she had hit something hard. I laughed for I knew she had hit Kou on the head. “Ichijou, you didn’t have to do this.” Said Rika. “What?! Nonsense, it’s been like what, 3 years since you guys left? It’s been so lonely here and we all miss you guys, right Shiki? Rima?” said Ichijou. “That’s right, but much more than Ichijou.” Said Rima. I smiled. “So,” said Kou “are we going to start or not?” “Heh…um…yes we are, but we’re just waiting on one last guest.” Said Ichijou nervously. “Who?” I asked. “Um…well, uh…” Ichijou as stuttering. “We’re waiting for Zero.” Said Shiki. “Zero? He’s coming here too?” I asked. Zero coming meant that I can talk to him at last. “Heh…” Ichijou laughed nervously. “Well, you see a problem about that…heh…”
I then heard murmurs. I looked towards where the murmurs were going towards. I saw that it was Zero. “Zero…” I said to myself. He was staring at someone. He was staring at me. He came toward me. Zero, one of the world’s strongest vampire hunter, who is also a vampire. I wonder if he is going to kill me right here and now. “Big brother!” exclaimed Rika. Rika had lived with Zero when she was younger. They had developed a sibling relationship. They hugged each other knowing that they haven’t seen each other for so long. Seeing them almost made me fell jealous of them to have such a nice relationship. It’s so strong that even Zero won’t kill her or her brothers. He was now standing 3 feet away from me. We stared at each other eye to eye. “You never told me that Yuuki was going to be here Ichijou.” Zero said stern and coldly while still looking at me eye to eye. “Heh…uh…ha...well she came unexpectedly actually.” Said Ichijou nervously. “Unexpected huh? Well I’m going to go now. The only reason I’m here is Rika and that’s it.” he turned to Rika. “Rika, I have to go now. Be good and stay here with your brothers okay?” “But…brother, can’t you stay just a little bit longer?” Rika pleaded. I knew that she pleaded for me so I can talk to Zero. “No.” replied Zero. “if I do,” he stared at me again with cold eyes. “it’ll be a bloody end.” Zero turned around and left. I felt as if I had no life in me anymore. At that time that he said that, I already knew he wasn’t going to change his mind about killing me anytime soon. “Yuuki…” said Rika. “Yuuki, are you…” “I’ll be going to my dorm now.” I said turning around and started walking.
Sitting in my dorm room, I thought about the past, of me and Zero. Being guardians, working together to protect the night class students from being known to the day class students. A knock came from the door. “Yuuki, may I come in?” it was Rika. She came in and sat by me. “you know, before we came here, I thought that I wasn’t able to handle it, after that big battle with Kaname’s uncle, and the fact that Lelouch had died trying to protect me. Ever since that day, I had felt guilty of myself, but his brothers had talked to me about him. They said that he would be happy to die if he knew that I was safe. Maybe in a way, it’s like that with you and Zero.” Hearing her say that sparked my interest. “Me and Zero?” I said. Rika nodded, “Maybe threatening you was the best way to make sure that you are safe, that you would run away from him, so he won’t kill you.” I was still confused. “what are you trying to say Rika?” I asked. She replied, “You knew that he loved you, and I’m pretty sure that he still loves you now. One night before we left the academy, he told me how he felt about you. He said that letting you go with Kaname is the best, because he can protect you more that Zero can; that if you stayed here with him, being a vampire himself, he cannot resist drinking your blood.” This information shocked me. I then knew that I must go and speak to him. I turned to Rika and gave her a hug. “Thank you so much Rika.” “No problem.” Rika said satisfied.
The next evening we attended the classes for the night class just as if we never left. When we got to the gates, I can hear the girls of the day class screaming. It was still crazy, but I guess it can’t really be helped. The night class after all is gorgeous. The doors opened, and I saw Zero there trying to get the girls out of the way. I instantly helped, knowing that I too was a guardian. “Move out of the way, and stay back!” I yelled out. Eventually they did. “Yuuki, are you coming?” asked Shoryu. “uh…” I looked at Zero. “uh, no. I have to do something.” I said. He nodded and left.
Zero was standing there with his back towards me. I began to walk towards him. “so you aren’t afraid of me?” asked Zero. I stopped in my tracks and replied, “I am afraid, but I…I know you won’t hurt me. I know you won’t.” Zero faced me with sadness in his eyes. “I…I never really stopped thinking about you Yuuki.” “I know...” I said. “I’m guessing that Rika had already told you everything already?” he asked. “yes…” I answered. “I see.” Said Zero. “Zero, do…do you still want my blood?” I asked. Beside all that I can think right now is to make him not suffer anymore. “what?” said zero. I took a deep breath. “I said do you still want my blood.” Zero got angry. “Yuuki, haven’t you forgotten what I said have you?” I winced at his words “I told you, I don’t want to be a monster, I don’t want to drink your blood. I thought that you knew that already.” “Zero, I do, but-“ “But what? But what Yuuki?” his hands held my shoulders gripping them hard “You know that I never wanted to be a vampire in the first place.” his voice had softened a bit and his hands released me. “Zero, I…” I didn’t know what to say anymore. He looked away from me. “We can’t be friends anymore Yuuki.” I was terrified at what he said. “You are a vampire, and I’m a vampire hunter. We can’t be together.” I then got angry. “But what about Rika?! What about her? She is a vampire, and you act like she isn’t one. What’s so different about her from me?” my sight was getting blurry now. Zero was quiet. “Gasp!” I had to stop myself. I was getting selfish again like in the past. “I’m sorry Zero. I...” I turned around. “I’ll leave now. You’re right. You are a vampire hunter and I’m a pure blood vampire. We can’t be together.” A tear ran down. My heart was broken. Maybe it was meant to be this way. Enemies will always be enemies. I stared to walk away knowing that the relationship between me and Zero will never be the same anymore. My heart ached, it was torn apart.
I walk through a dark passage, not knowing where I am. “Where am I?” I thought to myself. It was cold as if it was the coldest temperature in winter and I was shivering too. “Yuuki…” a voice called.
