Alright we have so many pointless debates in this forum, and I decided hell why not have another!:cheerleader:
Anyways I saw this on Aol when I got on to my messenger, and it was talking about the ex astronaut Edgar Mitchell confirms the UFO sightings and says the government is covering up the evidence.:usagi:
http://news.aol.com/article/astronaut-says-aliens-have-visited-earth/437766?icid=main|welcome|dl1|link3|http%3A%2F%2Fne ws.aol.com%2Farticle%2Fastronaut-says-aliens-have-visited-earth%2F437766
So what do you all think? Have we actually been visited by exterestrials, or is it just a natural phenomenon, air force testing new planes, or anything man made just confusing people?
Personally I believe there is other life in other galaxies but other life in our solar system..nope. I think people are just seeing something and during certain conditions of the day, or if they are just fatigue and confuse whatever they see as a UFO.

he could, but you got tons of nuts believing this. not to mention a show on the history channel about sightings.

We may be the only "intelligent" creatures in this galaxy, but we could never be the the only creatures in this vast universe. So I believe Alien creatures exist.
Regarding the governments covering up Aliens ....bullshit, if they are covering up for anything, then it has to be some new weapon or technology.

In short yes I believe there are other intelligent life forms out there, is the government covering it up, I don't really care.

I was joking by the way, of course I believe in intelligent existence besides us..but nothing that lives in space.

For all we know, these "Aliens" might be more human than us, who thinks that WE are aliens ...

What a pointless debate. At least it's better than what we've been debating on. >.>
Because this is so pointlessly pointless I'll just say that the government is covering it up. I think people say that Area 51 is the citing of these extraterrestrials because the government spread a rumor that that was the location and are just trying to hide the true area in which they are keeping aliens.

with uncountable galaxies out of our scope, the prospect of life elsewhere in the universe doesn't seem all to far fetched.
aliens making their way here, however, requires some explanation. and the US covering it up...again, doesn't necessarily make a whole lot of sense.

It is a possibility, why would we be the only beings in the whole universe?

I don't believe that they contacted the Earth yet. But I do believe that the Earth is not the only place that has living things on it.
More like they are covering up new technology/weapons.

We are all aliens! If it weren't for those meteors, that kept crashing on the earth every other day some billion years ago, we wouldn't be here! Life was made possible by the 'materials' that those meteors brought with them, and left behind when they crashed on the planet.

Someone has been playing to much Spore.....
The idea of humans being the only intelligent life in the universe is not only arrogant, but it is also has as much merit as thinking the U.S. public school system works. I also believe that While it is possible that extraterrestrial life has visited Earth, it was most likely an accident and the governments of Earth would try to cover it up under the premise that the majority of the population would not be able to handle the knowledge that we are not the smartest beings 'god' created.

I wonder what would've happened if those meteors hadn't been hit by other meteors that gave those ones the power to give life? and the meteors before that? I guess life wouldn't have exploded into the world with all it's beautiful fury.
It's like those stories about meteors hitting people's cars...and then the cars come to life and they make a movie out of it and it turns out to be a blockbuster that infringes upon the rights of a cartoon made years before...wait, that doesn't seem right...

There's no reason to doubt the existence of intelligent life elsewhere, really. Yes, the chances are incredibly low of there being life elsewhere that functions the same way Earth's life does, because of the low possibility of another Earth-like planet...but that doesn't rule out kinds of life we don't know about, obviously.
It's a big universe. Chances are, we're not alone.
However, I really, really, really doubt that any intelligent life form from another planet has ever traveled to Earth while man has been around.
For all we know, these "Aliens" might be more human than us, who thinks that WE are aliens ...
We'd be alien to them regardless of what species we or they are, because to be "alien" is simply to be foreign...and uh, considering we're the humans, I'd say it's pretty damn hard to be more human than us. Kind of illogical, you know.

i believe forms which are much more intelligent than us..but i don't think the reside in our galaxy..they are somewhere in this vast universe..we just have to find them..in area 51 is much more possible to contain a lethal weapon than alien species!

I think I know that.
Then why did you bother posting silliness about us being alien to them? You know it, we know it...no need to state the incredibly obvious.

If they really had ability to travel across universe and come here do you think our halfassed disorganized governments could stop them or cover it up?

I like to use my imagination so I say that there is a good possibility of life beeing outside our own galaxy. I mean space keeps going on and on and on it never seems to quit. What about black holes. Who is to say that a black hole will lead to another world. We dont exaclty know this.

Well, black holes are stars compressed to about the size of your hand, which cause an incredibly powerful gravity field that is so strong not even light can scape it....
Now if you're reffering to a worm hole, then that's a whole new story.
As a matter of fact i do believe in extratterestrial life, this migh sound crazy tho while i was in middle school, me AND the rest of my class along with people from other classes saw a UFO (looked like to cilindrical capsules with a small circular one keping them together in the middle, it was dark colored and something res in the middle),. So yeah, we are not alone.

if there are some lifeforms out there... im sure they know well enuff to stay away from us... personally the only thing i believe is out there is some kind of bacteria-like microscopic organism, or or plantlife jungle with tiny lil creatures like tadpoles n stuff... nothin too evolved to be traveling in massive ships or anything with an inteligent civilization that would be called a race... just simply tiny creatures or bacteria... things that would convert things like sunlight into energy, but not be able to do much with that energy except live a bit longer.
these ufo's are simply what atheists turn to as a higher being... you shun our beliefs of god, and believe that there absolutely MUST live something else out there... that is simply just ur belief, your religion i should say... its easy to put ur faith in ur eyes and ears, and these days what you see and hear can be controlled so well that your faith can go anywhere.
its simple... you either believe in god and not ufo's, or you believe in ufo's not god.
how can you back up ufo theories? sightings? crop circles? government hiding stuff?
you've been given so little proof or knowledge of these kind of things yet you try to cling to it like theres some catch or a clue... believing in a mystery... if only you had such dedication put towards the belief of god, something that doesnt try to hide itself or cover its tracks...
i guess everyone believes in something higher up... believing in ufo's is something that doesnt impact your life, its a fantasy that some people maybe even dream of seeing some day... believing in god seems to come off as uncomfortable like theres a whole bunch of rules applied to you, like theres no fun in it affecting your preffered lifestyle so you reject it and believe in something that means nothing to you or your life.
