Retro games consoles, whats your favourite?

you see all the PS3`s ,Nintendo wii and the 360 and i wonder how about we go back to the atari 5200 and the nintendo entertainment system so what i ask you what is your favourite retro games console?

i miss Sega genesis that was the best game system ever!! oh and of course the old Nintendo was awesome too

SNES, hands down, no contest whatsoever. No other console comes even mildly close to such a strong balance of the best of every single genre (the ones that existed in good numbers at that point, at least).

The best RPGs, the best platformers, the best puzzlers, the best shoot-em-ups, the best beat-em-ups, the best action-adventures, etc.

I'm not saying that the SNES had the absolute best game of every genre, but more importantly it had one of the best of every genre, and that balance was incredible.

some of my faves were the atari, the SNES and the Nintendo 64. Nintendo will almost always have some of the best consoles ever. the xbox and playstaion (old ones) are no competition to the 64 and such. though the new ones are real neat, I still miss the old style Mario games and others.

I really have to go with the Sega Dreamcast, infact, I think I still have one lying around in storage. I am a huge Sonic fan, and that was my dream put into reality.

but i love my PS1 more than anything...that was a classic..but i don't know if it counts because it is one of the "new" consoles.

The Nintendo64 was awesome! I had a good gaming child-hood because of that thing.

The original nintendo entertainement system was pure awesomness, it was my first console and it still my favorite one.

wow there are so many to chose from but personaly i liked sega saturn, dreamcast, super nintindo, N64, sega genesis, atari, and the original nintindo i really liked them all i guess lol and i still have them all somewhere in my basement but i still play dreamcast sometimes lol along with my super nintindo sometimes the color doesnt work but meh still a great game..
