I'm sick of this stupid program! Something that dumbs down the smarter children so that the stupid ones who could care less and don't study can succed as well. Instead of allowing the smart children to gain a better education and move on they're learning the same thing over and over just so that the dumber child finally understands. No one else should have to re-learn something for the idiot's sake, instead he should be moved to the basic or even " special needs " class. That's my take on this program, so wht's yours?

Ok, the program was started back when Bill Clinton was president. The program was basically to help all of the children who weren't able to understand something they were being taught by making it simpler for them. So to do this they had to lower the school's academic levels. Which meant that they had to hold the smarter children back so that they could help educate all of the dumber children. that's what the program is/does.

its to make sure teachers dont ignore the stupid/lazy kids and help the few of us that wanna learn stuff... i was stuck in school through this program... i got C's because i was bored in class... when i went to an alternate learning environment (in school suspension) i excelled because i worked at my own pace.. if i needed help i asked and didnt have to cove how to add fractions for a week

I'm sure I'll be the only one to say this... L2HOMESCHOOL. I'm in my middle teens, and I'm farther then public/private school students of the same age. I (or rather my Father) chose what I would learn, and obviously picked textbooks and such that are far better in material then what you would find at a public school. While homeschooling, I don't have to worry about you stupid folk.

With working in education for years and 4 of my own in the public 'day care' system I can say it does NOT work. Teachers do bare min then push kids up and through even if they are not ready. They focus on how to pass the end of year tests w/o really teaching life skills too often.
YES, their are many teachers I have worked with that go way above and beyond however there is a large stigmata that just push paper.

The 'no child left behind' crap is why I dropped out of school and got a general equivalency degree. I was sick of learning the same crap they taught me in Fourth grade when I was a sophomore in high school.......

My mom did the same thing when I started my freshman year of high school. But it only lasted til the beginning of my junior year.
The act not only dumbs down the curriculum, it also "socially" advances students even if they don't make the grade. So despite the fact that they didn't pass and should not go on to the next grade, the student still is if they are somewhat social around others or get along with with everyone.

To all saying stuff like "oh i'm so smart, leave the dumb kids behind, they don't deserve to be with me" you do reallize saying you're supposedly smart in here is meaningless and it makes it seem as if you are in fact one of the dumb ones trying to cover up for how you're failing badly at school.
Wether is true or not that school isn't as good as it should be.
Keep in mind this infact can be that the school you attend isn't of high quality, and that's why it seems easy, that doesn not make you a genious.

I go to a private school, so I don't have to worry about you scrubs....!! You can go ahead a grade if you're doing good (of you own choice). I don't mean to make fun of anyone that's failing but it's mostly the kids fault that he/she is lazy and or procrastinating. My school is number 2 by in scoring....SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test), So I can proudly say I go to a good school! I'm not a genius but I at least don't get C's... Our teachers stick the material up our butts, don't get it? Well ur left behind!!! Tough luck lazy dumbass! (no offense if you have a mental issue)

Yes I believe the problem is mostly with the public schools. Hey, at least the stupid classes are easy.

We wouldnt have this problem if the government implemented my idea of throwing idiot children into a wood chipper. But nooooo - its "inhumane".

[Then] is related to time, whereas [than] is used in comparative terms. This is really basic English, human.
As for the law, it disgusts me. The inbreed, brain-dead degenerates should all be forced into slave labour and give back something to the world for their uselessness.

Meh, English isn't my native. As odd as it sounds, I agree with Ken. O.o

This most definitly needs to end it is lowering the expectations on the younger generation. The idea was good in theory, but theory only. This will end badly.

Are you really smarter than you claim if you're failing at dumbed down school? There's something they don't teach in any school and it's called initiative. There's more to be learned out in the world "than" in any lazily driven school.

...not really particular to that program!,.
but becuase of what you said,.
smarter child should be left and those stupid children will be given more emphasis!,.that's stupid!,.
who had though of that?,.i bet he's tupid as he's program!,.
if a child is smart and industrious in studying,.shouldn't be left behind than those lazy idiot students!,.
what the heck is that!,.
even if a child is smart,.i mean a fast learner,.but he's lazy in studying,.he will not get a high grade,.and if a child is a slow learner but puts so much effort in studying,.of course he deserves high grades,.
nevertheless,.for my own opinion,.it doesnt matter if the child is a fast learner or slow,.what matters to me,.is that,.he's putting effort into his studying and gets its equivalent,.a high grade,.
but if a child is a slow learner and then lazy?,.i'll kick him off the school if i'm the principal!,.
well,.to conclude,.i got sick answering this thread!,.haha!,.♥
