Love sucks? Love hurts?

I don't think so. Actually it's rejection and hatred, and other stuffs that 'lack love' that hurts and not actually 'Love'. Many people confuse love with these things that are so 'lack-of-love'. In fact, Love is good and it's the only thing that doesn't hurt and it's free.

Neither. Both doesn't work when you need it, and works when you don't need it.

You think with your mind but it takes a lot of heart to do something for the good of others especially if its hard or embarassing

Damn.. No good choice since heart can over ride mind on emotional issue while mind can make you be stupid and miss how much someone is hurting.

Guess I'll lean towards heart since it's better to fail at love then to never love at all.

First off, this is your heart. >> http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/images/ency/fullsize/9367.jpg
This is your mind. >> http://www.ipmc.cnrs.fr/~duprat/neurophysiology/images/brain2.jpg
Second, I think when people say "it comes from the heart" I think they mean the mind. Your heart just pumps blood and keeps your body functioning. It's metaphorical in a sense. "Coming from your mind" would be the rational/irrational half of you. "Coming from the heart" is the emotional half of you. They work hand in hand, and the majority of times your "mind" wins out over your "heart".

So I guess I'm going with neither.

Neither. Follow the gut. If it feels wrong, it probably is. Your 'heart' is easily confused. And your 'mind' plays tricks with your preseption.

A few hard drinks cures both. But I'd rather not have to worry about either in the first place.

no a few hard drinks can result in screwing up your mind so you may do something stupid and kill yourself or drinking to many hard drinks can cause alcohol poisining which could affect your heart by stopping it. Once again your dead!

if you're putting down love, it's because you haven't experienced it, or you didn't try to maintain it. It's not a state of unwavering, eternal bliss. It's a faculty much like any other in the world that will crumble and disintegrate if not properly handled and maintained. If you're out of love, it's your fault.
If you're putting down mind, then you're stupid...

I pick mind, as it's a necessity for the stability of love.

if you're in love, you can use both but if got hurt because of love even your mind can't control it.

but is it really love if it's one way? for the other to devastate you, they must not be in love, so is truly that great emotion if there's no bond?

I would have to go with mind. Gaining as much intelligence as possible should be the goal of all human beings.

I would have to go with the mind, for without that you wouldn't be able to understand what you can do to help or get someone to love you. I mean sure, without 'heart' you wouldn't be able to enjoy love or anything, which... well never mind, I just choose Mind.

...i would like to say,.follow the heart but use your mind!,.

well,.in psychology,.our heart doesn't really feel love or anything,.it pumps blood,.that's how it is!,.

it is our brain that says we love and blah blah!,.♥

To be completely honest, love isn't just one emotion. If love was happiness then why don't we just say "You make me happy..." instead of "I love you" or "I'm in bliss" when we mean to say "I'm in love"? Love...means you care for someone. You put their needs above yours, and sometimes it sucks because sometimes the one you love doesn't care about you and THAT is when love is pain. Mind or Heart? Neither.

Trusting your "heart" would be trusting your emotions, which are extremely misleading, let me tell you. Then again, your "mind" may over think things and lead you straight into a trap. Love isn't easy, same as life. It all depends on the situation, but I'll give you a tip. If something is truely worth you putting "love" into it, you'll feel it. Like someone posted before about going with your gut, in the back of your tricky mind you always know the answer. People give off vibes and you do pick up on them, whether you realize it or not, you'll find sometimes in the back of your head you secretly know the outcome of a situation with somone.

In my shoes.. overthinking seems to kill me in my relationships.. Whos' to say weither its the heart or mind.. I would perfer to say trust your heart, however its extremly vulnerable.. as for the mind, well if you don't understand what signs she is throwing at you and tend to put up a front or wall.. you won't get anywhere..
