Soul Eater

ive been watching Soul Eater (which is good, by the way) but ive been wondering about something: the sun and the moon; what's up with them? the sun is alright, although weird looking and creepy laugh...and the moon is creepy looking with the smile and blood coming out of the mouth. i guess my main question is what does the blood mean, the blood coming out of the moon. sometimes its a little bit coming out, and sometimes there is more.

just something i was thinking about while whatching the show.
