I've flipped through all the channels that i have and started looking for a tv channel dedicated to anime. I searched for about an hour but came up blank. Although there are a couple of channels that show some anime at around midnight not that many do though. So now i'm starting to wander if there needs to be a tv channel dedicated to pretty much every type of anime. (Or we could always get our anime needs off of AF :P )

I would like there to be an anime channel on tv, but I would still rather watch it online. But just to have the assurance that I can still watch anime if there ever came a time where I lost my internet would be nice.

there was one in england for a time called anime network or something like that but in the day it showed telesales and from 9pm to 6am it showed anime from fma, bleach to cowboy beebop but they went broke, it ended up showing cowboy beebop and ghost in the shell gits season 1 and 2 every night everyday then turned into showcase tv.
*sobs*

I've been hearing rumors in my area for a number of years now. None have paned out so far.

There are several anime channels actually, but none that are available to the superior satalite. I've heard stuff that satalite would be able to get several but nothing since.

They have anime mondays on sci-fi channel, but I've never seen a network dedicated to anime, nor will I ever expect there to be one. There's just not enough of a market for it at least in the US (North America?). Plus I'm sure it'd all be dubbed poop anyways so the way I see it, it's better to watch online.

huh, i think there is an anime tv channel but it's one of those premium channels on satellite. personally i think it would be an awesome idea to have a public anime channel, it would be able to get pretty much all of its funding from the geeks of america.

One of the cable channels up here used to host like 4 or 5 hours of anime, but that was the best there was. I haven't had a tv hook up for a few years now, and frankly it's far more convenient to watch what I want, when I want on the comp. no regrets, no complaints.

Yeah, I've heard this too...but I've never had a satellite so I don't know.

I remember that there was a few anime broadcasting on MTV late at night like Hellsing, Candidate for Goddess, Aika, X, Wolf's Rain, Blue Submarine no. 6, Arjuna, Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex but they were on German.

Don't remember much, it was a very long time ago, I might have been 8 years old or something...

And i think there's a channel pack full of anime channels
So yeah, they do have many anime-only channels, you just don't have acces to them ki guess.

There are several but none in my area. On Demand Anime is available. JOOST dot COM has GONG and GONG Native feeds for free plus several other feeds.

I'm here in Brooklyn, NY and we have one. It's on cable and u have to subscribe to it. It's called Anime Network on Demand. Only $6.95 a month on IO cable. But I would luv to have a channel on cable that I didn't have to pay extra for. Long live anime on the internet, lol!!

Well, i believe you'd have to know japanese before going to japan so it shouldn't be a problem, what IS a problem is you'll have to scape my dungeon first!
*presses button and trap door opens below you making you fall into dungeon*

I believe if you visit Funimationchannel.com there is a link you can click that will automatically send a letter to your tv provider that you would like the Funimation Channel add. I don't know how many people it would take for them to add it, but I have asked and sent a letter to my provider. Still no aswer. :(
