The one and only three games we absolutely must thank for every damned or holy game out or in process is the arcade classics: Donky-Kong, Pac-man, and PONG (admit it Frogger IS lame) plus Asteroids wasn't bad either.

And my favorite in first is Donkey-Kong the arcade coin-op classic. In second Civilization Revolution-360 + Diablos games, and third is the ENTIRE "Command and Conquer" series.

I love some old games but i'm one of those that cant choose nostalgia over the new games. The feelings in the game are not the same, and when you say games were better before, you usually talk about the nostalgia and stuff. The games of today is in an other league. But classics are still and will always bee classics.

SOCOM 2 because I played that game for such a long time, and never got bored of it. In my opinion, it's the best online shooter ever! Not only was the game(play) great, I also met a few people online to whom I still talk to this day. It had a great community, it was challenging and tons of fun to play!

Shadow of the Colossus I like because of it's simplicity. You, the girl, the collosi and the world. That was it, barely any explanation as to what happened, just your objective: kill the collosi to revive the girl. It's a subjective experience, you can make what you want out of it.

And last, but not least BioShock. A very 'intelligent' game, a kind you don't see very often these days. Right from the start you get thrown into a mystery, and descend into what I would call the most atmospheric game environment I have ever played in. Through the eyes of Jack you go through Rapture, Trying to escape, but rather quickly your objectives change, revenge!

The wonderful thing about BioShock is, is that you yourself decide how invested in the game you become. Do you pick up the audio diaries, or do you just go along on a killing spree, killing hundreds of mutated people? It's your choice. I chose the first, and became invested in Rapture, and became familiar with it's citizens.

The ideologies, the philosophy, the politics is what made BioShock stand out. It's not only a game with a story, it's a game that's telling a story.
