Agnostic - Not enough evidence in this world to prove a Higher power but you hold out for the possibility there is one
Atheist - You believe in no higher power what so ever. You live you die and become part fo the earth.
I personall y am partial to the Agnostic but after watching the movie the Fountain I feel that Atheism went not presented by someone condescending is very plausible.

Is a point to this thread other than defining two words, and explaining your own personal belief? Are we supposed to argue over this, or what?

Agnostic - Not enough evidence in this world to prove a Higher power but you hold out for the possibility there is oneI'm not really sure if that's phrased the right way. It's not really holding out for the possibility, it's more of the acknowledgment that a higher power may exist but not in any form described by any religion.

Correct!!
I see myself as both Agnostic and Atheist, but if it came down to a decision between the two then i would be seen as an Agnostic.

First, we will share our beliefs with other people, separating the atheists from the agnostics. Second, those of which who feel that it is their duty to "object"(or wishes to change the views of others) will add water to the seed, which FlrcntKnht has laid and only then will this topic grow into a true argument. Whether or not it is a bad or good root has yet to be determined and no, good intentions does not excuse reckless behavior. If we're lucky, the roots will die out before it can spread throughout Anime Fuel and reach tainted soil. Of course this thread, at first glance, is harmless, but it's only a matter of time. ~Ramble DIES~
Discussion of religious articles, text, details, or any topics that may be directly/indirectly involved or include religion as your only arguement towards somthing.
Anyone know where this came from? :oo:

I can't vote for that yet! I would say I am a bit religious but I haven't really read the whole Bible so I won't vote until I research some more about Christianity. I believe pretty much the writings in the New Testaments but I cannot do the same thing entirely with the Old Testament. So, you can say I am somewhere in between being religious and agnostic :oo: !!!

Why are the religous peopel not posting anything??
I know I can sound alittle aggressive toward you guys but I promise I will try to keep a non-aggressive responses. Yes you are supposed to debate between the these and post why and people can argue and post about believing in aliens and all that goodness.

What a pointless debate..we are all going to walk empty handed anyway...you can't make a person disbelieve something if he "firmly" believes it..

If the person firmly believes it and doesn't want to change his/her opinion then yes. but, not all of us firmly believe in something. Besides, I think it is stupid to believe something so strongly that nobody can convince you otherwise. We are not always right and I think many people need to be reminded of that! I am not talking about anyone from af, just a general opinion!

No, sir Cryticx. It's not pointless, but I think you're right about changing a person's beliefs. You cant do that because they are born with it .... normal people will not have the strength and courage to defy it or to think out of the box.
Any way, about the the question, to my religion I'm not the most "religious" guy ,so I think I belong to Agnostic and Religious parties .....
And I think LoKiWorlD got that last qoute from the Forum Rules, no ?

I was told that it's easier to change one's beliefs if they firmly believe in something rather than one who feels indifferent to both elements.
I'm not religious at all and I don't really care about religion. So, I rather not subject myself to the words Atheists or Agnostics. I just live.

Correct,
I was trying to mix the obvious with sarcasm in hopes that someone would become curious enough to look it up and while doing so he/she would help enforce the rules. Even though there are plenty of mature individuals who take part in the forums, i still felt that a reminder was needed to prevent the birth of senseless arguments. Arguments that could be taken personally or cause childish behavior.

i disagree with you there. some of my friends i've know since kindergarden were christians and were religious people. something happens in their lives that told God to go frak Himself. people can change their beliefs.

What I think wi_sam is saying is that most people usually don't question the knowledge they got from a young age. Of course there are examples but not as many as there should be. This is what I believe too. Most people accept what they have learned when they were young and never really think deeply about it.

I said YOU can't change them, but a sane human is capable of taking his own choices and choosing beliefs.
And yes leshinor, thank you for clarfying my point.

I dunno, I'm an agnostic I guess.
Though I accept pretty much every possibility for a religion evar. (or lack there of)
I think too much. ;P
(not including Scientology, even the church of the flying spaghetti monster is better)

Atheism is by far the most logical.
