Is code geass better than death note?
What do you think?
I'm not going to compare the two shows since we all have different opinions.
I, myself liked Code Geass more than Death Note. Five reasons.
1. It has Kallen
2. It's mecha related
3. War
4. Almost modern time
5. The non-stop action keeps you wanting for more. Once you watch it, you'll keep watching it until it's over. Starts out slow, but it gets better.

I with hold judgment until I finish Code Geass. But Death Note was really good, so for Code Geass to be better will be a difficult question.

hmmm....well I'll see it between Lelouch and Light/Zero and Kira.
They're both smart so it's tie there.
They are both anti-hero. tie.
They have power. Geass and the Deathnote. Though Geass is way more powerful it is a bit easy to avoid, Deathnote makes you conscious when you appear in public. So I'll take to their aliases. Zero is masked, more likely a non-Britannian for going against Britannia and so not easily suspected. Kira is unknown but he is easily found to be in Japan because however smart he is, he still made mistakes. CG gets this one.
They both wanted a better world, and they both died(is lelouch really dead?). But I would say that Light loses this one for being to damn impatient.........and acting like an idiot when Matsuda shot him in his desperate move........and being killed by Ryuk. Lelouch had himself killed for the better of the world. Zero Requiem as it is called.
Code Geass wins.

A nice question. Both are fantastic anime, both have a great story, plot, characters, action, drama, everything that makes a good anime. I guess for me I would choose....hhmm... actually I'm not sure. I want to say CG cause I'm a mecha fan but I loved DN too....hhhhhmmmmmmmmm

Code Geass and Death Note are two of the best animes I have ever watched... I think I'd have to say that Code Geass takes top honors for me. Why? Three reasons.
1. The stakes are higher
2. Kallen
3. The ending
1. Ok so in Death Note you constantly hear Light aka Kira talking about his plans to take over the world and become God etc etc. But this never happens or even comes close to happening! He's stuck with that police task force the whole time, and although he makes people fearful, he can't take control since he's always being watched. And getting his location traced by L so early on really screwed him up.
In Code Geass, Lelouch's dream is to bring down Brittania and create a new world order, which he really does succeed in doing. Lelouch essentially becomes ruler of the world at one point. He gets things done, no matter what, and he always always has his plans. You never really see Lulu make a massive lapse in judgment like Light does sometimes, he is always ahead of the game.
2. Kallen. That is all.
3. The ending. Ok Death Note pretty much was destroyed the moment L was killed. It really went downhill from there, culminating into Light just completely giving himself away and being killed!
Code Geass has you wondering for the entire show how it's gonna end. And when it does... you never see it coming. Sure in essence it might have the same kind of ending, but the impact is far greater.

I don't agree with your reasoning at all Koopa. I'd like to focus on your points that are highlighted in red.
-The stakes are the same when it deals with the future of humanity itself.
-That's what you call being realistic and being able to Is code geass better than death note? It's called being cautious.
-Lelouche is only ahead of the game by one step. There many scenes when he was unprepared and it cost him a great deal when in fact if he was prepared even by a margin he would have been fine. Lelouche also allowed his emotions control him too easily for the type of game he played. Light however, was able to plan several steps ahead and think way more stratigically.
-The reason Death Note was 'destroyed' was because everyone wants to see the good prevail over evil and in here after a long battle, evil ended up winning. They're telling you that good doesn't always win even if you want it the most.
-Lastly, Kallen. The rest went in order but I decided to save Kallen for last. I didn't want the second season of Code Geass because well, I hated it. But from what I noticed in the first season was that Kallen had a collar and her master was Zero. I cannot ever like a character who unknownly follows someone so strongly like she does. It evident that she questions him once maybe twice throughout the whole season but other than that she's as obedient as a slave.
In all, I agree with Unknown and Mugen.
Go ahead and give me another bad reputation beause I don't like Code Geass.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. Except the Kallen part. You can axe that part out for me.

This!
Though if I'd had to pick, I'd pick Death Note. Code Geass used 'cheap' drama and tons of clichés to make the story seem more interesting than it actually is.
Death Note is more 'down to earth', and feels more authentic.
