Poetry Sessions With Sky!

[Sky]

I made this thread because I've been writing for a few years, and many genres at that including poetry. I'm working on a novel that will be published once i get my ideas developed on paper (spoke with a publisher) and I write a Naruto fanfic that I will post tomorrow. With all this being said I am most passionate about my poetry as their are a lot of personal thoughts being poured throughout them. However, the majority take me very little time and it's me writing down spontaneous thoughts and feelings that I feel at that point in time. I hope you enjoy them, and I am open to constructive criticism as every writer should be, so feel free to give me suggestions. So without further ado here is one of my favourites.



Head Towards The Light


All we ever hear are the shots in the sky
Never being turned down
Why do they have to die
I’m losing my breath I’m about to drown
Does it have to be this way
Sacrificed like pawns in your game
We’re the ones that truly pay
We hope for a new day…

We have to head towards the light
We’re gonna make it through tonight
Day by day we hope
Finding ways to cope
How can there be any winners
We’re not even gonna be here
This day is full of redemption and sinners
We only hope the skies will clear…

We now begin to disapear and fade away
Becoming a forgotten lost cause
Cause here in the fields we lay
Awaiting a time to pause
We’ve lost everything cause of you
The light’s starting to fade
It’s almost time to say adieu
We’re the ones that stayed…


Please don’t cry I’m coming home soon
Hold on for a while longer
If you look close you can see the moon
Our wounds begin to heal, and we get stronger
We can’t lose hope, we have to move on
Just take my hand we’re almost there
We now wait for the break on dawn…


We have to head towards the light

Day by day we hope

I’m miles away from where I want to be
To far away to say goodbye
Can’t hold you tight way out here
Coming back was nothing more than a lie
I’m to tired to go any longer…

Tell me what do you see
When you look into my dark eyes
Am I worth waiting to see
All I ever did was make you cry

So Leave it all behind tonight
Didn’t even say my goodbyes
Won’t ever be able to hold you quite right
Wanted things to be better, seemed I didn’t even try
Your still waiting for my call
I lost it all…

I went behind your back
I caused the suffering
I can’t feel you anymore, I’ll take it all back
Trying to wash away the sting
Why did you have to be so cute…

I cast you away, yet you try to pull me back
Travelling alone is always second best to being with you
Maybe I can go back
Step where I used to be and love you…

So Leave it all behind tonight
Didn’t even say my goodbyes
Won’t ever be able to hold you quite right
Wanted things to be better, seemed I didn’t even try

I can finally hold you up again in my arms

When will this snow melt away
And when will the sun shine like it did
For years to come we watch the stress wither away
I want the world to always stay lit…

The sky is filled with sorrow
And the tears begin to rain down on us all
We start to look for tomorrow
Don’t look down, please stand tall…

Everything has to change someday
The sun will rise once again
Yea the rain will stop today
Please stand tall with me my friend…

We become like the trees without bark
Our love is for the world to see
And we now venture out of the dark
Because we both have so much left to see

The stars begin to align
The last leaf has fallen
And our souls become intertwined
And we see the snow melt away…

Everything has to change someday
The sun will rise once again

August Rush


I take my head and try to wrap it around
All these things I can’t understand
It just won’t work out
Because we stay and sing, this won’t end

It feels like my body is numb
I can’t get my body to get running
Where was I trying to go
I’ll stay right here and feel everything rush by…

So I close my eyes and feel
Yea feel the world around me
I’m in a better place, don’t speak, don’t make a sound
Look through my eyes and say what you see
Then dive back, fall and turn it around

These things may not make sense me
But oh I feel it all around me
Yea just take a look and see
These streaming lines of light,
oh how they fade so quickly

This is everything I’ll ever need
I won’t stop seeing, believing, and I wont stop singing
Hear my voice one more time
And feel the sound waves fly though your body

So I close my eyes and feel
Yea feel the world around me
I’m in a better place, don’t speak, don’t make a sound

Well I haven't posted here in a long time, too long in my opinion. So here it is, one of my newest pieces, I hope you all enjoy it!

Refrain

Oceans they swallow us whole
And cast us astray across the land
An ominous wind enshrouds my soul
And I slip through when you try to take my hand

My head peaks above the surface
As the dry sand takes me in
My eyes manage to catch a glimpse of your face
I smile and sink, into my own sin

Water surges into my mouth as it gets late
And the rain kisses my cheek
While the wind whispers my fate
I tilt my head, watch my body for leeks

You reach for my heart, and I grab yours to
I can breathe, and let go of my mind
My tears now pour down to you
How I wish I wasn’t so blind

A river of tears pool at my feet
As you float off in the distance
And leave your heart forever with me
You won’t truly leave, and I won’t get another chance
