Not much is known when or how, but from my recent online searchings it sounds very promising on a new Pikim title in the making. For the Wii system. I, myself am overly excited to hear this news. I have held the Pikim series close to me.. played both one and two countless times, over and over. Secluded myself and screamed at my sister when she begged me to play and always fell asleep on me. Possible evidence for a Ds game to follow for this as well.. so my question to you all is.. what do you think of it all? Do you hate the series? Never played it? Love it? Or perhaps think the series should end before it goes too far like many before it?

And while we are on the Pikmin topic, what do you all think of it moving to the Wii? being the second setup that will be moving over and all. Keeping to the buttons to help control the pikmin and all I think it will be pretty cool to be able to move around by pointing the remote at the screen. *shrugs* It may be interesting. ^^

The knowledge that Miyamoto was starting a new Pikmin game has existed since 2007. It's pretty old news.

I've been excited about it ever since he first talked about on IGN back in 2007. I love the hell out of the first two Pikmin games and I think the series would make the move to the Wii quite well. It's a very simple setup, after all. You'd hardly even need to change anything. I can see new features such as using the Wiimote to select targets for your Pikmin and such.

However, you have to wonder: Was he talking about a brand new pikmin game, or was he referring to the Wii Control pikmin?

It's already been stated that they're separate projects, again, in an interview with IGN. An actual Pikmin 3 has been cited as being in development on more than one occasion, with the new ports of the first two games as being totally separate.

The last update as far as I know was last October when some lady said in an IGN interview once again that Pikmin 3 was in the works.

Olimar crashed his ship. Olimar needs the parts to his ship back quickly because his suit can only protect him from oxygen (which is toxic to him apparently) for 30 days.

That's really it.

I believe the better of the two was the second one, in relation of not having the time limit of 30 days. Completing the game in that amount of time makes for a tougher game. the second one with the introduction of the newer species and different abilities makes for a better game. Though I'm unsure of what the third instalment will bring.

I agree that the second one was better, but the 30 day limit in the first one doesn't bother me because of how very easily it can be beaten in less than 20 as long as you have a good idea of what you're doing.

I remember renting a nintendo gamecube when it first came out, and rented Pikmen along with it. I instantly fell in love with this game as the concept and game play is relatively simple, it is thoroughly entertaining like most nintendo games. I certainly hope that a third installment in the series is released on the Wii so I may buy it.
