Was wondering if anyone had played and finished all the new .Hack games, I've been meaning to play them but I wanted to go back and finish the original 4 first as I had stopped after the first one b/c I was playing something else, I was curious how good the new ones were as I heard a lot of hype when the first new one was coming out and they looked really good, but haven't heard anything really since. Also I heard at one point that if you had a completed save file from the original 4 you could load it into the new set sort of like you can for the Suikoden games garnering you a few little bonuses here and there, like extra armor or a hidden shop or an extra char, something to that effect, and if that was true, what exactly the bonus was

i got one of the new ones cant remember whick one lol they didnt realy fit in with my playing style but i can say there are slight differences in game but it follows along the same lines as out ones

No, I haven't played any of the new games. I can't find the fourth old one for a reasonable price. I like playing games in order.;)

I know what you mean tangaloor, something like this I have to play in order, I didn't even want to play the Suikoden games out of order, so I had to go find copies of 1 and 2 when the third game came out, now those had ridiculous price tags on them for used ps1 games

I've only played the first one, but that one was my friends so I didn't get to beat it. I've been looking for these for a little as well.

I don't have any trouble finding the games, I just haven't gotten around to finishing the first 4, in fact I should have all 4 of the initial series, I just have to remember who I loaned 3 and 4 to

and for you info, while i was back in japan visiting family i heard that a .hack MMORPG is going to be released in japan sometime late this summer... dont know if and when it will come to the states.

they've been talking about that possibily since around the time the 3 or 4th game from the first part of the series came out, it's just a question of if it's true and how long will it take to program it and work out enough of the kinks to put it in beta, and will they have a US/International beta at the same time as the Japanese or will we have to wait 3-9 months like we do w/ everything else

I’ve played through the new .hack// games and iv got to say they where freakin sweet as far as the battle system goes I kind of miss the old where you could run away whenever you where in over your head as far as the story goes its pretty deep I would suggest playing through the first four games and watching the animes .hack sign// and .hack roots// before playing these games if you want to understand the entire story.
I give it a 9/10 as far as the overall game series goes.

The new .hack games are pretty good. If you want to understand the entire story line to the new ones then you need to watch .hack//roots since it starts where the show leaves off. I agree that they deserve a 9 out of 10.

they are all for ps2, I know the first 4 games come w/ the .hack//Liminality dvd's as well but I don't know if GU has any dvd's it comes w/

the dvd's are more insight into the game, also have a pencil and some paper w/ you while watching them if you want to play them like they were intended, they say area keywords during Liminality and the idea is to write them all down so you can use them, I don't remember how many keywords they say though I can check later

Hrm. Well I will have to get the DVDs too then. Guess I will look for the first DVD and the first game.. since I am only on the first SIGN series. There are like three SIGNs right?

well the .Hack games come w/ the .hack//Liminality dvd's, they are an extra provided w/ the game to enhance to the story, so as long as you get the game, and it's not missing anything, the dvd should be provided as well even on a used copy

I am only to level 6 for my character, but already I am so immersed in the game that I am having a hard time balancing it and my anime. Hehe. I love it love it love it love it!!! Am probably going to watch the volume one movie here shortly. But I wanted to come and say that I am hooked!

Okay I got a question about this game. How do I equip armor? I figured out how to equip weapons but not armor. HELP PLEASE!

You use the instruction manual or barring that the instructions are usually online at GameFAQs, but barring all that I read the instructions just now, you equip armor the same way you do weapons, through the Available Weapons command, if there is a circle w/ a slash through it, that char cannot wear that gear, green is new skills or stats going up, orange is skills lost or stats going down

So if I can wear something then it will show up as available in that same screen? So so far nothing that I have gotten is wearable I guess. Hrm confusing. Than you. And yeah, I don't have a booklet and I did try reading some FAQs but everything I was trying wasn't working so I figured might as well ask here. Thanks.

the .hack//gu are really good i really like them more then the first one the play style it better you have more then a 1 hit combo lol all around its a good buy =)

I know this thread hadnt been talked on in a while but the dot hack games are amazing but i think they should stop making them and start on making a actual online game like in the anime. Sure it was fun being hesao and kite and talkin to characters that arent real. I think every one just wants an online verson that has played and seen this anime.

It was called .hack//fragment and was only released in Japan. I too would like to see a .hack mmorpg. As for the games, I only played the first 4 and thought it was just too repetative.

Thanks for telling me but why dont they make one for the rest of the world and this time give more customization. Because the game didnt sound good from the discription i just read. I think if they spend three to four years they might have a good game that people would like to play.

OMG dude i will become a member right away. But how are they like working on it exectly because i really confused what you mean like a production team or something. well not really a production team but people that want to play it like dam this is hard to say. Is it one of those forum games or an actual game being made.

See i asked him because if it is one of those forum games i wouldnt care but if it is an and actual game i would be amazed. And im still waiting on his reponse to what it really is in detailed.

somehow I think it will require at least a minimum fee to pay, but heck, even $5 a month would be worth it and cheaper than any of the other online games fees, but I think it will require some money just b/c of upkeep and maintenance

yeah I have to agree, the .Hack games were great, and it would be worth it to even pay $5/month in order to play a true mmorpg in The World, although I am kind of curious what the storyline would be, would it be something along the lines of the current series of .Hack and .Hack//GU games, maybe just exploration around the world like all the NPC's in those games were supposedly doing, trying to fulfill some undefined goal or storyline, who knows, maybe we'd run into characters from the 2 game series and maybe the animes as well as NPC's moving some overall storyline forward

I have,played,and beat all .HACK games I love how you can use your saved game from the last game and use it in the next game.

About the .hack/G.U. series, I'm curious as to WHY Haseo looks just like that cry-baby, wimp Sasuke from Naruto. I despise Sasuke in that show. So why is Haseo, the Terror of Death a pratical copy of him?Did they have no good ideas on how he should look, or did a lot of people submit who to base him off of? Some1, please help me out here!!!!

fun fact: many anime people have similar looks for 1 main reason. they almost ALWAYS have spiky hair. sasukes and haseos just seemed more similar

I've only beaten the first one, my mom's almost done with the 3rd so once she finishes the 4th I can say whether you can use things from the last .hack Series in the new one.

There isn't really much of a difference exept that when you beat the last .hack//G.U. you get an email from the person who played Blackrose in the original that she was able to meet Kite in real life. That is the only thing, I could be wrong though because play, beat, and transfir all 6 games until the last one(7th one) to get only that.

I have been on that site a lot lately and the game is starting to sound sick. The more I read about how it is going to play and the possible detail in character design aaaaaaahhhhhh I can't stop thinking that the game will steal my life. Online dot hack is the best idea ever for online gaming.

The newest .hack i know of is .hack//LINK but i'm not sure if its going to be a new season, game or the mmo Jcj222 was talking about, i just know its the newest .hack.
