Have any of you heard of this HENTAI video game, called Rapelay?
Rapelay virtual rape game was banned by Amazon. Overstock.com has stopped selling the game too.

The difference between hentai movies and games, are of course what you stated, but also a lot of the good hentai shows/movies, don't have rape. Or at least the ones that I've seen or were showed. Rape is not an amusing thing (to most people, me excluded), so it should not be made into a game. That only promotes rape. Which leads to jail fill-ups. Which then leads to the glorious executions. Actually... When put like that, please sell it!

Anyway, what about movies, anime or games that are promoting killing?
(and I am not aiming at Ryuu, just saying in general)
What is considered to be the worst crime? A murder or rape?
When someone kills a person they can be imprisoned for the rest of their life.
For raping, they can be let out of jail withing few years.
If you take a look at percentage of people being killer or raped. You'd quickly find out there is way more rapists than murderers.
Therefore, I am somewhat surprised to read some of yours reactions.
Don't get me wrong. I am not promoting this kind of game... nor the act of rape. In fact, I am against any kind of violence including rape AND killing.
Nevertheless, it's disturbing how many of you perceive killing in video games as something "normal."
In my personal opinion tendentious killing is as sick as raping. However, it got popularized by the media so much that it no longer makes any impression.

Well if we look at society and where Japanese and other culture actually treat women i can see why the japanese in particular get a kick out of it. Comparing rape to murder is, i think (obviously), a little far though. The act of rape leaves damage that the victim has to live with the rest o their whil murder is burden that the killer has. Changing the point alittle video games are a form a catharsis for people that is why people kill, bomb, and in the case of the japanese market rape people. I am not promoting this stuff either but the porn industry helps to channel the urges of people in a same way there are plenty of "Fantasy" Genre where they depict rape. This game does make me wonder what is left for people to push the envelope on what is a catharsis and what is just plain grotesque.

Battle Raper sounded like the better game. Far more taboo.
The real point is, that media with over the top stuff like this gets banned all the time. GTA resembles sh*t in a fan everytime they release a game. Unless you're doing it to aliens or grotesque monsters, nobody seems to care what you're doing in the game. I played a game once called pussy city pimps, where you run around with your pants off beating the crap out of pimps and thugs trying to get your ho back so she'll pay you the money she owes you. Needless to say, it wasn't found on the shelf of your local walmart. The only reason it's a headline is because amazon was stupid enough to let it be sold on their site. Nice PR people.

I have an idea... maybe i'm totally wrong but it's a supposition.... long time ago a survey was made and prove that game with a lot of violence and killing calm down the need of doing it in real life... and in fact from the time that the free violence game came out they notice a drop of 40% in the violence and crime..... so maybe they thought that it could work with rape too no ?

As for the game itself, yeah. This is somthing that happens alot in manga or hentai games and what not. The Japanese don't have quite as strict obsenity laws as the United States and Europe.

even though i think a game where you go around raping women shouldn't have been made, it has....and there's really nothing any of us can do about it.
