Anime Conventions

Ok it is indeed a new year and that means all the Conventions will be up and running in full force again. Basically I want to know if you have plans on going to a convention this year. Also if you have been to one, I would like to hear your expirences and show pics if you have them.

Me personally I have never been to one, but have already purchased passes to go to the AWA convention in Atlanta Georgia on Sept 18-20th. Im paying 119 per night (2) to stay at the Rennasance Hotel in the Heart of Atlanta. Yes its a bit pricey but it has its advantages. One thing is I dont have to get up everymorning early pack my stuff in my car and wait in horrific lines to get in. I just walk down stairs go out the back door and BAM Im there. I want to cosplay but Im not sure as to who I should dress up as. Still pondering on that one. Ill be brining 4 more newbs with me so I will not be alone.::D:

i'm planning on going to otakon 2009 this year. :3
it's held in the convention center in baltimore. <3
i went once before, last year, as a last minute thing.

it was totally AMAZING.
there was so much to do, to see. i didn't have time to cosplay,
since it really was a last minute thing - my best friend called up out of the blue
like, five days before the thing and decides to see if i want to come.

ah well.

but i did have a lot of fun.
there were a bunch of vendors, art to see, anime to watch,
they even had an early showing of the death note live action movie.

the only downside to it was that we weren't allowed to carry metal weapons,
even if they were in the box.
:/
so, i had to leave before i got to watch the death note movie.
ah, well.

i know better for next year, ne?

Aaah, anime conventions. Sadly, I don't have the time to go to one. I would love to go to one, but yeah... I have, however, been to ones in the past. They were amazing! I loved going so much. Some of the cosplayers were amazing looking. So much stuff to do, too. I sadly don't have any pictures from the ones I've gone to... I know, though, that I've had a few of the pictures my friend took of myself and few others as my avatar on here before. And yes, I did cosplay. <3

I personally will be attending Fanime in San Jose CA, mainly because I live there. I was thinking of going to Anime Expo in LA this year but probly going to PAX (non-anime convention) instead.

Yea there is a electronics convention that Im looking to go to. I love all the new tech stuff comming out and want to see what others are building and how things work but we will see. :)

Oh my, your first time to an Anime Convention? I hope you're ready to have the best time of your entire life, because that's what AKon is. For me, it definitely is, anyways. I know it is to the point that I have "POST-KON DEPRESSION." Anydangways, I remember last AKon I went to, I was L from Death Note, which was great. I met up with a lot of other Death Note fans, and somehow ended up participating in an "L Train" where the DN cosplayers and fans alike got into a cha-cha-train kinda thing and ran around screaming "L" and making a sign with our hands... gah, I loved it! I fucking love AKons with every ounce of my soul. They would be the perfect girlfriend if they were manifested into human form.

omg anime conventions are the best. i have been to ANIME DETOUR IN MN..still going.
its pretty fun, there's some good and bad things about it, but other than that if you tehre for pictures that's the best part. i loved it.
and if you haven't gone to one you should go and cosplay. BE CAREFUL OF STALKERS !!!

Yes indeed I've regularly started to attend two conventions a year, the next one is in less than TWO WEEKS from today so I'm pretty psyched. I actually posted threads in AF before about my last two convention excursions, complete with pictures and videos. Poke around and you'll find them.
