I've heard people saying the New 50 Cent game is actually shaping up to look pretty cool, but either way I still won't play it since I don't even have the systems for most 'cool' games.

I want to see all those worthless movie license games gone forever. They always suck. They are always bad. And parents always buy them for their children. This needs to be brought to an immediate halt because these games are disgraceful and ugly.

Rip-off games, gimmicky games, and Mini-game party games are the crux of gaming stupidity. "Hey guys we need a new game quick! Let's take about a dozen stupid mini games and put them into one and sell it as a real game!!!" I'd say the only games of this variety that don't suck are the earlier Mario Party games and the Wario Ware games. Carnival Games? Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party? Disney Party? NO. The rip-off games bug me to no end as well... One game company makes a hit game? It gets endlessly copied. Look at what happened with Nintendo after they made Nintendogs and Brain Age. How many cheapo "mind games" and "pet simulators" have you seen since then? It's quite a shame that these sham companies won't come up with original game ideas.

Far Cry 2's AI ever conceived by man... the story was OK until it REALLY gets started... I mean ... YOU BETRAY everybody... it woulda been better if you could have actually picked a side you wanted to work for... but no... I guess that's too much to ask... The ending was pretty horrible too... Fallout 3 gets honorable mention for an equally horrible ending...

Ok some people may disagree whole-heartedly with me about this but... Fallout 3 ... NO... I'M SERIOUS... The ENDING IS HORRIBLE... and if you ask me it's only truly playable if you have mods on the computer version... Far Cry 2 gets honorable mention for the crappiest story ever conceived by man... not to mention the crappiest AI ever conceived by man...

For Farcry 2 I agree... specially if you play the first one.... the first was just soo awesome and this one is... a random fps with the name of farcry O.o I don't even see a link between those two...

And for fallout ? yeah... I agree the ending piss me off and all ... BUT! I start a new game and screw the main quest lol their is sooo many secondary and funny quest :P and so many place to find if you search ^^ sure... bethesda try to make something as fun than oblivion but modern... but it's wasn't as good. The armor pass from:hand/helmet/boot/greaves/gauntlet/chest/pant/shield. to :armor/helmet/failT_T. And in oblivion if you are fighting with your sword it increase your blade skill... but in Fallout ... no >:( the map is smaller and they are a lot of glitch when you are trying to pass over some wasted building that normaly you could just jump over it ¬¬ But ! If you are looking that game and forget the fact that they try to make it as good as oblivion?... It's not that bad... okay it could be frustrating sometime but not enough to make me wanting to see it burn lol ^^

Yea I see where you're coming from on the Fallout thing... I played Fallout 1 and 2 just to get into the mood and then when I played Fallout 3 I just fell in love with the open-ness of it all... I enjoyed going out doing random quests and finding all sorts of new stuff... I think I'll edit my original post... Fallout 3 isn't that bad... the story is just horrible...

They've all got something that makes me want to play more of them, and I rarely get tired of them. Sure, I'm not too fond of football/soccer/hockey/basket-ball games, but that's mostly because I find it dull, but they've still got great graphics and are mostly thought through in the playing system.

Well, if we go like this, then all games should burn, seeing as that they are only a waste of time that we could have spent doing something more productive, ne?

Let me shed some light on this matter that every gamer should know about.

As we all know, the video gaming industry had a crash in 1983. The problem stemming from over the counter games being crappy and thrown into a discount bin, to over production of said crappy games and consoles. And then to top it all off Atari released E.T. Extraterrestrial.

The Ultimate History of Video Games[/I]; pages 237-239, Steven L. Kent"]

Atari was poised for another great year when Steven Ross -- then head of Warner Communications -- approached Steven Speilberg about licensing E.T. The Pac-Man cartridge had been a disappointment, but Ray Kassar -- then president and CEO of Atari-- and Manny Gerard -- then Warner executive -- still claimed that Atari's sales would be up by 50% for the fourth quarter. Ross might not have known the full extent of the Pac-Man debacle and had felt confident that a game based on E.T. could be a huge bestseller.
Ross told Speilberg that the game should be out in time for Christmas. Since they made the deal in late July, that left very little time to design and manufacture it.

I asked Steve, "When do we have to produce this?"
He said for Christmas of 1982.
This was in July when he called me, the end of July.
I said, "Steve, the lead time to produce a game is at least 6 months between semiconductor deliveries and programming and all that. it's impossible."
He said, "Well, you have to do it because I promised Speilberg we'd have it on retail shelves for Christmas."
We had literally six weeks to produce a brand new game, manufacture it, package it, and market it. It was a disaster. I mean, the programmers hated it. Nobody liked the game.
Then he [Ross] ordered us to produce almost five million of these games.
I told him, "Steve, that's crazy. We never make five million of a product until we have some market testing."
He said, "Well, it's going to be a big hit because of Speilberg and E.T." So we made five million and practically all of them came back.

E.T. became infamous throughout the video-game industry for it's dull play and disappointing story. The game involved leading Speiberg's cute extraterrestrial away from various dangers as he tried to assemble an intergalactic device to phone home. The game's graphics were primitive, even by Atari 2600 standards, and E.T. spent most of the game falling into holes.
Riding on the heels of the Pac-Man disaster, E.T. was too much. Atari had managed to sell millions of Pac-Man cartridges, but the majority of E.T. cartridges remained in dead inventory. Atari tried to buy it's way out of the hole by licensing top arcade games, often spending millions of dollars for exclusive rights.

Basically, we'd zap them. They had last rights of refusal, so we'd just come up with a bid that was wild; then, of course, Atari would be forced to beat it. Atari was getting it from two sides. Atari was getting it from not only the glut of the market, but also they were paying unbelievable amounts of money for these software titles. You know, the bidding on these software titles was just mind blowing.

Not even home versions of the latest arcade hits helped. Consumers had already begun losing interest in the video arcades, and in 1983, they stopped purchasing video games. the industry that had shown such miraculous growth through most of 1982 suddenly became a black hole.

Basically, E.T. Extraterrestrial was the last straw for gamers everywhere. Which is why everyone wants it to burn in hell.
