Final Fantasy 7 it should die

I know that this thread may get me multiple death threats but I will say it, I personaly think they should let this game die finaly stop making moves and spin offs and no remake. Whats your opinions

FFVII in not only a game it has become a life style. FFVII will never die NEVER. I hope they will never stop making games that deal with it

I wouldn't mind seeing a remake for the psp or something, but I do agree that all these "new" games based off it are pretty meh. It's taking something that was quality and then pooping on it.

Part of the appeal of Final Fantasy is that each one is a story by itself, you get a sense of completeness. I think both VII and X have been detracted from because of all the random spinoffs and sequels.

So, while I don't think that VII related stuff should die, they really ought to stop making crap related to it.

Well, I loved the game, and I loved the movie. But the thing is, so do a ton of other people. Because the fan base is still strong, the developers see no reason NOT to expand on that and make money on an old classic. Until the quality stagnates enough that people will start to ignore the new content being created, it's not going away.

I would like to see an actual remake of the original on the PS3, and the movie/games related to it were pretty good, but if they keep this up for too long then Cloud is gonna meet the same fate as Sonic & Mario, But as long as the games/ movies are still good then i don't mind .its kinda like Zelda, Metroid, MGS, GTA, amongst others that have survived.

Hahah you think Square Enix is going to let such a cash cow die off? Never! They have already made ports and remakes of all the Final Fantasy games up to VI, so VII is naturally going to come next. Seeing as how VII is the most popular with fans, (Not my favorite of the Final Fantasy games, this goes to IX) they could continue to make a spin-off or remake of Final Fantasy VII every couple of years for the next decade and people would still buy buy buy. I mean, come on they still make the spin-offs of the Chocobo games and Crystal Chronicles, what makes you think they won't keep doing it with this?

Now as long as the games are good this wouldn't be too much of an issue but ehh... The games like Dirge of Cerberus and Crisis Core are good games, but I still don't like how they are taking the old RPG and making it into action titles. I wouldn't say Final Fantasy VII games should "die" per se... but maybe stop making spin-offs for it. An enhanced PS3 remake would be wicked awesome, but if they end up making a separate game for each of the party members then yes it should die before that happens.

But as a classic Playstation game FFVII will never die just due to its importance and nostalgia. The older Final Fantasy games live on just fine without all the extra fanfare applied to them, just a nice remake a decade later or so.

FF7 is one great game, looking at its age its still had it.And I've seen the movie, its not as good as it should be .

The original was good. Good. Not fan-freaking-tastic or anything. It didn't break any new grounds. It wasn't original in the least. Sephiroth isn't that cool. Cloud's an emo dick.

But Square Enix knows how impressionable fans can be. They know they'll keep making money off of people. So whatever. I fully enjoyed FF7, but its spinoffs don't interest me in the least.

By the way, the movie was boring as hell.

Although I think that Square Enix should stop with the spin-offs and remakes, I can see why they don't.The fans of FF VII will never stop purchasing stuff the has "Final Fantasy VII" stamped on the front of it. I did see the movie and thought it was better than "Spirits Within".

However you put it. Because people in the US are so fixated on the Final Fantisy games most notedly 7. It becomes hard for other great/alright RPG's out there to gain enough reccongnition. As great as FF is.....IIIIIIT needs to die, if but for some years or so.

I'm still waiting for another Final Fantasy to come along that is decent enough for me to want to play. VIII was okay, IX was awful, and X was a bit boring for me (although to be fair, I didn't spend a lot of time with it). I stopped playing them after that, because when asking a few friends whether the latest one was any good I was told it was as crap as the last one.

it would be nice to see a remake on the ps3 but like i said in other threads it will take at least 5 years to remake it as they would have to start from scratch and plus square enix is busy atm making 13 and vs 13 so i doubt they would remake it in the next few years, and the spin offs are a little not to satisfactory towards my taste what i think they should do is just finish making 13 and vs 13 and start on remaking 7 an no other spin offs, but w/e its up to se but the point is it will not die anytime soon =]

Everyone has their favorites, some are more popular then the others. I haven't bothered with the spin offs of FFVII due to the fact they aren't FFVII they are spin offs. The only way to make any of the spin offs come anywhere near the original you would need the person who came up with the story and have him write the stories for the spin offs. Unfortunately I believe the original story writer passed on a few years back, therefor it will be next to impossible to create something as great as the original was. Enjoy the games for what they are, if you like them good, great, grand if not just move on.

I would love to see a remake of FFVII on the PS3 but if they touch the storyline in any way whats so ever it will destroy the game for me.

I can agree on the spin offs, they've blown hard salty balls (of those I've played). The movie was alright, but the game itself is fantastic though. And while I can't see a remake making a greater impression on me than the original did, I'd still play it at least once for kicks.
