Alright! I'm sorry I'm a day late with this, things got busy yesterday. I'll post the next SOTW tomorrow and keep it on that schedule instead. Closing Saturday new one on Monday.

I really liked all the sigs that were posted to compete. They were all good. But we can only have one first place. So here they are my picks from 3rd to 1st!

3rd: Made by lithium

Very nice colors and lighting. But the covering effects even though go with the name to keep it hidin, cover up the picture enough to lose some of the overall quality in the picture. But I really like the colors, blend very well.

The feel of this sig is great, the colors and the context are awesome. But the overall sig feels empty. The smudging effect you are incorporating is getting better though.

Effects, awsome. Colors, great. Composition, very nice. Only thing really wrong with this piece is that there's really not a focal point. My eyes wander all around it instead of falling on one spot and staring trying to break my glance from it. Work on focals and you'll get a lot better.

Thank you for competing, and I hope you all will turn out for the next one. It should be good if we keep this going. Remember! You get better with each piece made!

i dont know jack might have been going for that look to begin with that way you dont get bored just staring at one spot.

silk's correct. I purposely created my entry in that way. I didn't want somebody to retain what the piece was all about at a glance but to actually be required to sit for a minute and take in everything that is 'happening' in order to properly appreciate it's flow as well as the signature as a whole.

Yes, congratulations to everyone. Well done.

But without some sort of focus on any particular point made it seem a bit chaotic and just a little messy. The focal point helps create order in chaos if you will. Helps a person see what is in the midst of everything that is happening around it. And when a focal point is evident, people will look around the rest of the sig to see whats happening in the overall picture around it.

I assumed that I had created a focal point that was just noticeable enough in the stock. I viewed the effects as an escape from chaos. Perhaps I failed to make it obvious.
