All the legends that you’ve heard of the never ending feud between the creatures known as Vampyres and the Humans is not entirely incorrect. It has been going on for longer than even the oldest of the Vampyres can remember. But it was not always that way. There was a time, so long past that the trees forget when the two races thrived together. They lived in the same villages; shared houses; and did all they could to help one another. War, famine, and sorrow were things unheard of in this time. All were happy.
But, as all things are destined to do, this great time of peace came to an end. A human had been found murdered and drained of all blood near the outskirts of one of the villages. Though the Vampyres swore their innocents, a dark cloak of unease began to spread among the Humans. Could they truly trust these unnatural creatures? Was it safe to have them so close to their friends and family?
As these questions were whispered throughout the lands, more and more people began to distrust the sincerity of the Vampyres. These were bloodsucking monsters, not the friends they had been believed to be for so long. The Human leaders held council secretly to decide what was to be done. The meeting went on for many days, but little was decided. There was, however, one thing that they all agreed upon: The Vampyres were evil and should be removed from the Human lands.
What they could not agree upon was how to go about doing this. One Lord suggested that they decapitate them all in their sleep. Another Lord argued that the only humane thing to do was to make a commission to remove them all. These happened to be the most argued of all the ideas. That is, until one lower Lord came forth. He said that decapitating them was not the answer, but neither was signing a paper saying they had to go. He claimed the only way to get the Vampyres to leave their lands was to rise up against them and drive them out. At first this idea was disregarded as suicide. But as the Lord continued to speak, the idea made more and more sense. “Yes” The Lords said. “We must drive them out before they try to take over our lands.” And so it was decided that the Lords would muster their forces and drive the Vampyres out.
The Vampyres, in the mean time, were having a meeting of their own. What were they to do about the Humans? All their attempts to vanquish the fear rapidly spreading throughout the land had failed horribly. After much debating the Vampyres decided it would best if they moved on and found a better place to continue their existence.
It just so happened that the meeting of Vampyre rulers adjourned on the same day that the Lords were ready to make their first move against them. The High King gave the order and the armies of all the Lords lade siege on the Vampyre race. Though they were not ready for the attack, the Vampyres fought viciously, taking many Humans with them in this slaughter.
The battle went on for ten endless, bloody years. Finally, only the Master Vampyre and seven of his Counts remained. Utterly defeated, the Master sent a message to the High king of the Humans. It was written in this message that The Master and his remaining Counts would surrender under the condition that the Humans let them leave here alive. A reply was sent three days later. The high King agreed to let the Vampyres leave peacefully, as long as they swore never to return. They left that very day. This battle became known as The Years of Raining Blood.
One month after the departure of the Vampyres, a Prophecy was told by a well respected soothsayer. He proclaimed that there would come at time when the sharp toothed ones would be needed again. Demons would sweep the land of man and spare no one. Unless the Vampyres could be found and agreed to assist the Humans, all would be lost to fire and death.
In private, the soothsayer revealed to the king the last part of the Prophecy, meant for his ears alone. The King must past the story of The Years of Raining Blood and the Prophecy to his heir and only to them. The Vampyres would be forgotten by all Humans, but the High King and his son must know them. The King agreed to keep silent and tell only his heir. After that day, no Vampyre was seen by Human eyes again. As time passed, the people forgot about the worst battle of their history and the terrifying creatures who took part in it; all but the High King and his oldest son.

Comments and ideas would be wondefully welcome. :kawaii:

I was thinking on it...but mostly it's just a random story I'm working on.
