ok, normally I'd ask Jack as he seems to be the resident expert(to the best of my knowledge) on file conversion for video's, but seeing as he's out for the weekend I was wondering if anyone had any experience converting mkv's w/ alltoavi, I'm having some issues, my subs seem to be lagging behind audio and more importantly, the files only convert halfway then suddenly the process stops abruptly leaving me w/ a 11min file, and since I have no idea what player to use to watch the original mkv, I can't even check if the original is only 11min in order to determine if the issue is w/ alltoavi or my original file, any help would be appreciated, msn chat would be preferred but I'll take answers here as well since I'm not on msn all the time

Ahh i used to download .mkv files alot and it took me a while to find something decent to watch them on. This worked though.

Sorry but I'm not sure about converting, i've never tried in all honesty.

vlc is the ultimate media player. it's super small (a couple of megs) it plays EVERYTHING (except RM, for whatever reason.) and its free.
the website: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
anyway. no idea about converting them. the only question i would ask is how much of your memory/cpu is being used by programs running in the background (or not in the background). that can cause the kind of problems you're describing.

ok, well the anidb list at least helped w/ a little info, the subs are not an issue apparently that was a problem from the beginning not the sub group as they did not actually sub the anime, they chose to rip the original subbed dvd version and claim it as their own, Bandai is the one who screwed up the subs, at least in terms of translation and some missing sentences, I don't know if the timing of the subs is the my fault and being unfamiliar w/ converting mkv's or once again Bandai's fault, have to wait and see, still need to figure out why the eps are cutting out halfway through though, apparently there is a second version of the dvd's out that Bandai redid that are a lot better, but I haven't found any info on if anyone has put them online yet, if anyone happens to see the newer dvd version online, let me know, I'll switch over to converting and/or adding those
***Ok, finally found out what the whole deal is, apparently Bandai did redo the dub/sub version of Zeta Gundam, unfortunately it has not yet been released, at least on what limited info I have found, there was an original boxset a few years back that tanked, and a newer version under their Anime Legends line that won't be out until April 2008 for the first half of the series, seeing as how the current version sucks so badly and no one bothered to fansub it for a good version, I will be dropping this project until the new copy comes out, at which time, it will be added, even if I have to buy the series myself
