Haven't seen a thread like this but thought it would be useful for people planning visits to different cities around the globe.
What anime conventions and clubs do you have in your city?
I'm in Adelaide, Australia and we have:
AVCON - Anime & Video Games Convention annually in July; and
AJAS - Adelaide Japanese Animation Society affiliated with the University of South Australia screening anime on Tuesdays.

Hm............. we have some Manga stores where you can buy few things. If I'm right we have places where you can buy anime dvds. We have AnimeCon 2-3 times a year over the country. And maybe there are things what I don't know... Hey the capital is huge so forgive me :D

Sydney.
I like Smash and Animia held in August.
They are really fun, bad thing is in winter though, Cosplays would have to be less revealing.

I know there are way more here in Northern Texas, but I always end up going to Anime Convention and Anime Festival. I personally think Akons/Fests are the best thing to ever exist since music and food. No joke, those things make the best memories EVAR.

The plan is to go to Anime Expo in LA one year, but this year I'm going to Fanime (since it's held about 20 minutes from my house) and PAX (a convention, not anime related though).
Went to comic-con the last couple of years, they have some anime stuffs there as well, worth checking out.
