Alright, so I was just wondering if it was just me or does anyone else seem to notice every woman in society walking around with a copy of "Twilight" in their hands? One of my good friends, who happens to be a girl, even started getting on my back about how I should read the book and the go see the movie with her and her friends, which I found to be....really annoying.

Not to mention the "Team Edward" and "Team Jacob" thing going around..I see people with those T-Shirts daily. People in my school (mostly girls....) are always running up to people asking what team they're on..and what's worse......I've noticed Twilight fans get EXTREMELY offended if you say something against the books..even if you're just joking, like when a group of friends and I made our own T-shirts called "Team Get a Damn Life" and got jumped by a clan of Twilight Groupies :dizzy:

I was just wondering if it was the East Coast that was so engulfed with this book....

I don't know, here in Hungary there isn't any "riot" about it :) Though I heard that the film was good, at least the music, I have only heard that. But I want to watch it. The last time when there were fighting groups was 6 years ago: do you like Linkin Park or Limp Bizkit? That was annoying

yep..i'd say the soundtrack of the movie was quite good...i enjoyed listenin to em...(*considern the fact that i rarely listen to and enjoy western songs)

I used to love twilight, i was the first person in our school to read it and i got my friends into it. It's a massive craze in my school now, and ive read the book alot of times. but it's getting old. I like the first book but they just go downhill, Bella is too whiny for me. My friend regulaly bites my head off when i say that Jasper owns. Shes all Jacob Jacob! lols.

That was exactly my thinking also, so I tried reading the first few chapters of it, but after that I have had no motivation because I am not into the YA style of writing. In my opinion, Twilight is a perfect example that you do not have to be the greatest writer to make it big.

The movie was entertaining until it started focusing on just Edward and Bella. It got rather boring at that stage. The dialogue was real shite sometimes, the same with the acting. My friend has seen it six times already. D:

I have seen the movie, and I dont know what/why these girls are going crazy over it, the movie was bad, and the actors where just pathetic, none of them fit the role they where suppose to play. (Girls dont get mad, this isjust my thoughts)

In the long run, my friend did drag me out to see the movie and it was just annoying. Every time Edward got close to Bella the audience would go insane or my friends friend (who was completely engulfed in this damn movie) would be sitting there going "OH...MY...GOD...YES!!" like she'd never seen a movie where people got close..

That's very true and annoying. Honestly it seems no one even knew about the actor UNTIL twilight came out...which means they're mostlikely only attracted to that poor bastard because he played a vampire in the movie, but no I'm sorry...he's not an actual vampire so they need to get over it and stop hanging his posters all over their house.

ok i like twilight and i even have i twilight hoodie. but i'm not super obsessive about it like most of the girls that like twilight. i just read the books and wear my hoodie. i'm not going to scream "OMFG EDWARD AND BELLA SOOOOOOO BELONG TOGETHER!!! *squeal*" yeah that's not me. the book is just a nice series not something to get obsessed with 'cause before you know it twilight will be a thing of the past to many, but the people who weren't screaming fangirl's will still enjoy the books. most girls are just getting the books and merchandise because of the movie.

Twilight's crack, no denying it. It's not good for you, but for some reason it becomes really difficult to put the books down (for most people, anyway).

As far as the movie goes, I was dragged to see it and went in with a low enough expectation (thought it'd be complete sh*t) that it wasn't half-bad. Although it was at a much lower level than the books and the books weren't even that good to begin with (once again, Twilight = crack).

And, note to all the crazy, obsessed Jacob/Edward fan girls: there are much better guys out there in real life, trust me. So stop saying they're so great and start living in the real world.

I agree with you and share the same story. I read Twilight a few years ago before it was such a big thing. The other books aren't as good as the first, and Edward is pathetic.

Jasper is my favorite, though I must confess that I really started liking Jacob in the last book because he was pretty much the only sane one throughout the majority of Breaking Dawn.

I always thought it was funny that some people will like something until it becomes popular. Seems a little flaky.
I was loaned the Twilight series from a friend and I really enjoyed the books. Although the reading level was a lot lower than what I am used to. And, really, I like a little more description in sex scenes ~ there is no reason to PG it up. Detail, lusty detail :).
When they are printed in paperback ~ I am planning on buying all 4 books. Yes, even though the books are now massively popular.
The movie, though, suuuuuuucked. Kristin Stewart is a great actress ~ I loved her in the movie Speak. I didn't see any of the "chemistry" between her and Robert P. that was raved about weeks before the movie came out. The supposedly serious scenes were painful to watch and, at times, laughable. But I guess the movie would have been much more entertaining if I was an easy~to~please tween fangirl.
Alas, I have grown cynical and jaded in my decrepitude :P.

Just watch, twilight will eventually "burn out" for most of these people, then people who actually like the book and not the actors or the "hotness" will like it still.
