What type of anime do you perfer: the ones with long episodes [which, probably, have fillers somewhere along the line] or the ones with short episodes [as in, there's at least 30 episodes or less]?

It really doesn't matter to me.

I prefer short. Usually, I like anime that's only 12-20 episodes long. That way, when I reach the half-way point, I'm not going, "Now wtf happened? Where did this guy come from? Did he just randomly pop up?"

I have to agree with you there.
Short ones are better, they get to the point of the story faster

Short ones are a lot better. I use to like Bleach and Naruto, but after a while it just got ridiculous. xD

/Still watches those two shows for some reason.

I don't really mind either way, however, if they start screwing up the story line or do a poor job then it should be short.

Short ones are better. I like anime that have 1x-5x episodes. Anything higher than those tend to suck. One Piece is different.

Short because more stuff happens and its funner to watch, although the endings aren't all the time.
I like some long anime, but eventually it just gets boring after a while.

Some short anime take a while to get to their point. For example, in Rosario+Vampire the villains didn't show up until the 10th or so episode (out of 12). But the ones that span 12-26 episodes are mainly the ones I watch. There are exceptions however like D Gray Man (that was reluctantly stalled) and Shugo Chara! (which I'm still watching)

"a good anime knows how to end well"

yes i definitely prefer short ones(regular seasonal anime) than those that almost never ends ...and mostly those long ones tend to get crappier by the episode...haha

i don't really care if an anime series is long or short as long as it has the same or extended storyline that has the conflicts & major events that occur in the manga series.

I prefer short anime's as well, but I have to admit at the end of each short anime I'm begging for more, haha. The long one's confuse me because if I'm going to watch an anime...I do it from start - finish and if I have to spend more then 3 whole nights staying up to watch the anime I get bored...and then I'll stop watching it for a week...and then when I pick up again I don't know what the hell is going on.

I just tend to avoid anime with like 50+ episodes, mostly because I watch little anime as it is I don't like having to watch so much. I like ones around 26 episodes (probably most common). Takes like 4 days to watch if I do it leisurely, maybe one if I am really into it (Code Geass). I mean some animes are better long so they can get everything, cause I'll watch a good long anime. So it would have to depend on the quality. If it's really good I'll spend the extra time, but shorter is just more preferred.

Bleach

hmmm i like em both tbh (might say i need to get aout alittle more but never
mind XD) long or short doesn't matter so long as i enjoy watching it i'll wait
for however long for the next episode to come out etc, even if it's going to be a very long chapter rofl

I usually seek for the shorter ones like from 20-30 episodes but right now I'm in the mod for a longer one. Maybe around 50.

I don't really care whether its long or short. As long as the anime series are nice to see. ::D:

Recently, I've been watching shorter anime. Nothing more than 50 episodes, unless it's split into different seasons. I find that once you get well over 50, a lot of the episodes are just filler, and it starts to get mundane. If the series is long, it has to hold my attention.

I prefer short because the long ones get tooo boring after a while like for example naruto, i got bored on the 100th episode

I thought i already posted in a thread like this one...whatever.

Long, because it will hold my attention long enough before i have to look for another anime to watch. I mean lets face it, after you are done with one, then the next one will most likely have a similar plot to the last. The shorter the anime, the faster it's story and everything unique in it will be reused in another series. Sort of like "Recycling Meets Illustration"....but i guess it doesn't really matter, as long as you can find some enjoyment out of watching it. Even if it's for the 30th time...ok ok i'm stopping. ~Ramble Dies~

short ones mainly, up to 20-25 episodes. long ones bore me after a while. unless the story is really good.

I say somewhere in the middle. That way it's long enough to enjoy it and last, but not too long to go nowhere. I say about 24 episodes.

it depends on the anime but i like longer ones there aren't many cliffies. those get on my last nerve.

in my opinion, it depends on the story of the anime. sometimes, it's better long and sometimes, it's better short and detailed.

can't agree less... it depends upon how the title was brought up and how it was made and if the story was good or not... not to mention the 'overuse' of fillers...jeez i hate those..

Both are great.

What you have against fillers in long animes?
I really can say that 80% of the fillers in old naruto were greater then 30% of main story.

The only bad part in long animes is when there is no real progress example: like Dragonball Z seeing 6 mins where someone tries to see the fight beween the others and you only see his eyes moving and the sourroundign getting destroyed... .

krazykandy
01-07-2009, 04:19 AM
agreed
long and short are both good....depending on the content of the anime...short is good if they can give enough detail in such a short period of time, for example noein.....roughly 20 something episodes....short and plenty of plot
however if its like Tokko where when it reached like the last 3-4 episodes it is kinda vague on like what happened to some of the characters and how it ended gave the feeling like it should have went another episode to acutally make it final

some long term animes can be good and bad....one bad example is naruto where it keeps dragging on but at least there is character and plot developement but then they add in fillers and make the anime complete waste of time at times

To them, I am simply a relic of the past they want to get rid of. So why am I alive? Why do I exist? But as you live, you need a reason. Otherwise it's the same as being dead.

I cant really pick.
Short anime has its positive sides, and long anime does too.
Short is good, easier to watch, things dont take forever to come up etc.
But i like long anime too.

Really it DOES depend on the story line.
If you have a really good, interesting, great character filled anime, then even if its long, you still watch it because you love it.
Really it depends for me, i watch both.

Since i dont have a lot of time on my hands these days, I like em short.

If the anime is short (15-25 ep) I can quickly end it and start another one, but if its long I can enjoy it...longer...hehe :D

It will depends. Sometimes short stories are too short and the ends are still little bit unclear or unfinished. Long stories could be boring sometimes, specially when they put fillers on it but, if the story is good, you can get hook up and dont care how many episodes are on.

Mhmm, yeahh... those are kinda "ridiculous" but you got addicted anyway, huh?.. like many other kids. ;)
I know those kinda of people, they always complain after watching another episode of Bleach yet they can't wait for the next one... lol

I go for series that have around 1-50 episodes. I'm not too big on long series, they tend to have a bunch of fillers/recaps. However, there are some exceptions out there.. that I still watch from time to time.

I like short number of episodes ~ because as you mentioned ~ long ones have an overabundance of filler episodes. Which are sometimes fun ~ but mostly a waste of my time.
