Has anyone ever watched The Biggest Loser?
Well, little fact: one of the winners two years ago was actually peeing blood by the time of the final weigh-in because of the outrageous body cleanse he was doing to lose those last stingy pounds. After he won he immediately gained > 30 lbs back.
I wouldn't be surprised if more than half the contestants gained the weight back, if only because in your normal life you can't focus all of your attention just on losing weight. And you also don't have $250,000.00 dangling in front of you to convince you to avoid eating that second piece of cake.
For those of you who don't know ~ a 'cleanse' is when you only drink fluids and stimulants (for 3 days to a week) that encourage your body to expel water and toxins. You basically lose water weight and become dehydrated if you aren't replacing that water.
I thought the show was wonderful when it first aired and bravo-ed the positive messages about healthy eating and an active lifestyle. Now after the latest season, it all is beginning to smell strangely of the stench of reality television BS and sleazy marketing. Really, could Subway possibly be mentioned a little less in the next season? Their food is gross.
