Code geass or Death Note [Archive] - Anime Fuel Community

Ive watched a good bit of both these animes and I cant decide which is better Code Geass or Death Note. However I want to see what you guys think.

btw if there is a thread like this already let me know

Death note. because light owns all giant robot pilots.Except for the fact that Death Note turned into garbage in the middle (not gonna posts spoilers but people who have watched it know what I'm talking about), while Geass continued to get better and better pretty much every episode...

I saw the first 2 eps of Death Note and the first 5 of Code Geass.

I lost interest in Death Note due to lack of violence but the death in it and the cute Shinigami keep my interest to this day.

Code Geass however just had me hooked from the first episode. I like both actually can't choose -shakes head-

Code Geass, definetly. Don't get me wrong, Death Note was an awesome anime. But Code Geass is just amazing. From the first episode to the end, it'll have you asking questions, jumping to conclusions, and you'll get suprised by many things. I won't say anything to not spoil it for anyone though. Plus, it has a lot of action, Death Note lacked fighting. Also, Code Geass is basically Gundam + Death Note. Lelouch is just badass, smartest anime character in my opinion.

Lol, I watched Death Note first too. But it's alright if you can't decide. Both are very awesome anime. Im just a Geass Freak, rofl.

Hmm...I personally think that everything I disliked about Death Note (how it kinda leveled out halfway through, and how Light was a wimp, imo), is pulled off excellently in Code Geass...The first 5 or so eps of Death Note blew my mind for sure, but Geass continued to impress me throughout...
Code Geass=Death Note done right. (Lelouch>Kira...Period.)

Death note kept me guessing and I really liked most of it. But yeah to me it seemed to lose some excitement the farther I went. Code Geass really kept me pumped and guessing the entire time. The ending was amazing and it just put me on the edge of my seat more and more each episode. Plus I've always been a fan of more science fiction/gundam animes. I would have to say Code Geass.

That's a tough decision, but I have to say Code Geass. I don't know why, but I just like it better. Maybe it's more exciting, like I said I really don't know why.

I say Code Geass takes the win by a hair. They are both awesome anime that glued me to the screen but Code Geass was just better. like someone said before (too lazy to quote) Death Note was missing something...violence?

i'd go with code geass, i just like the idea of being able to force people to do what you tell them to do, plus the robots looked cool.

You cant FULLY compare the two i mean
Code Geass has more fighting, with the robots and battles.
While, besides the supernatural notebook and shinigami, death note is more a battle of wits, more reality.

im going to go wit code geass.... cuz in death note... there isnt alot of fighting..just alot of stratagizing and planning out deaths ... while code geass it just had alot of fighting from the start and not alot af stratazing.. and a little easier to follow along when it came to certain plans tht they made.... and as for death note.. well the some of their plans were a littl e to complicated to follow and alot harder to understand.... even tho i understood all the plan tht they had.. some of them i just didnt get.. and code geass makes their plans clearer than most shows like death note..

Well i know the notebook and shinigami isnt reality. I was mostly talking about the tricks, and the battle of minds between light and L and so on and so forth.
But yes, you cant fully compare them.
Although i do agree that both are very good, recommended to watch.

also been watcing Code Geass and finshed watching the death note series but I would think that I like Code Geass better. Don't get me wrong I loved watching death note series but after L :dead:. The series kinda lost luster in it. So far in the Code Geass it has kept that so far in the series. So I would choose Code Geass then though L is so :cute:and the things that happen :dizzy: you, :pissed:, and makes you::D: it's not like CoGe(Code Geass.)

yeah even they are both really good series the ending of the Death Note Series is as good as you would think it would be. I think it should have ended way before it for it did. For the reason that L had caught Kira it that none of the others believed him that's all. Man I would've well that's just me.

Code Geass was a lot better in my opinion the Death Note. Everything went according to Lelouch's plan to the very end. Well maybe except for a few parts, and I loved the ending. Death Note's ending got to predictable towards the end.

I like Death Note better. Light is such a unique charcter, he does it for himself, In code geass, he does it for his little sis. the role of someone fighting for revenge on the behav of some1 else is played out.

I prefer Deathnote. It kept me hooked from the first ep (though i agree some parts got a bit boring in the middle). I liked how more in depth it was, and it really makes you think, every episode. For me, it kept getting better and better. Whereas, Code Geass... pretty much bored the heck out of me (i watched up to ep 7, but i couldn't get into it). *shrugs* so Deathnote all the way!

Death Note was good the 1st half but it got kinda boring the 2nd half and i lost interest, except for the ending which was great.
But code geass was great all the way with and awesome ending that killed death note's.

Light overall had better planned out ideaas, while Lelouche had to constantly think on the spot, but still be around the same IQ. I do beleive though that even though I beleive that Death note is a better strategic anime, code geass had more thrill to it, so it goes to Code Geass.
