Eureka Seven
Renton Thurston is the son of a hero. His father sacrificed his life to save their world, and he feels that he cannot escape the shadow that hangs over him. While working as a mechanic at his grandfathers shop he passes the time by dreaming of becoming a famous lifter, a person who surfs in the air through use of the special trapar waves. On one normal day, a mechanized lifter falls into his home and connects him to the rebel group known as Gekkostate. He is asked by his grandfather to deliver a part to them that will unlock the true power of the Nirvash typeZERO, the mech that crashed into his room. Renton takes the opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream and join the idealized Gekkostate, but he is severely disappointed when he finds little respect from the crew. The only reason he stays is to try and win the love of the Nirvashs odd pilot, Eureka, and unlock the destiny that seems to lie ahead of him.
