Berserk
This gritty anime follows the life of Guts, a strong man who is known as The Black Swordsman. During a brutal raid on the King’s castle, he reflects on his battle-filled past and the many events that have shaped him. Guts is an orphan who is adopted into the Band of the Hawk and finds himself serving in the band of mercenaries who exist as his only family. This led him down a path of war and bloodshed that crafted him into the skilled warrior fighting against the King’s best soldiers.
